  The steel-edged rubber water stop belt is a composite component made of generally stretchable rubber with galvanized steel edges on both sides. This type of water stop mainly relies on the central rubber section being compressed or stretched between concrete deformation joints to achieve sealing and water-stopping effects. Generally speaking, the adhesion between concrete and rubber is poor, and during conventional construction, the rubber, being a soft elastic body, makes it difficult for the concrete to be compacted during pouring. Therefore, when the concrete joints expand, pull apart, or twist, the rubber water stop belt often becomes loose and falls off, leading to leakage under high water pressure. This issue is even more pronounced for large deformation joints.
  
  Using a galvanized steel edge rubber composite water stop belt can basically overcome the shortcomings of pure rubber bridge-type water stop belts. Moreover, this composite water stop belt has a dual function: on one hand, it can extend the path and delay the seepage speed; on the other hand, the galvanized steel edge has good adhesion with concrete, allowing the water stop belt to withstand greater tensile and torsional forces, thereby ensuring that the rubber water stop belt does not become loose or fall off within the effective deformation range of the concrete, improving the water stop effect.
  
  Installation of the steel-edged rubber water stop belt:
  
  Selection and requirements for the materials of the water stop belt: Steel edge: use galvanized steel edge; Rubber: usually natural rubber, neoprene rubber, ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber, etc. It is required that the rubber and steel edge bond effectively, and the bonding strength (peel strength) between them should reach 80~100N/2.5mm to prevent them from being pulled apart under changing external conditions. Typically, the edges of the steel edge do not have process holes. During installation and pouring of concrete, the water stop belt and steel edge are fixed with fine iron wire to ensure compact pouring, allowing the galvanized steel sheet and concrete to bond effectively and securely.
